Brock J. Romero
MSN, APRN, FNP-BC
Owner| CEO

Brock Romero MSN, APRN, FNP-BC was born and raised in Loreauville, Louisiana by his wonderful parents, Dr. & Mrs. James R. Romero. He is a 1994 graduate of Catholic High School in New Iberia, LA. Immediately after high school, Brock attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL), now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) acquiring a minor in both biology and chemistry. In 1999, after a brief stint of time away from college, he decided to return to ULL to major in Nursing. He acquired his Bachelor of Science Degree as a Registered Nurse in 2003 and was immediately hired by Iberia Medical Center where he worked for four years within the Intensive Care Unit. Within this time, he also worked as a part-time RN for his father Dr. James R. Romero M.D. at the Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville as well as with Dr. W. Perry Stokes M.D. at Iberia Gastroenterology & Associates. During this time, Brock acquired multiple certifications as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and as a Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN). In 2007, he decided to further advance his carrier by enrolling in a Master’s Degree Program for advanced nursing practice and was accepted into a Family Nurse Practitioner Program at one of the Top 10 Nursing Programs in the nation, Graceland University in Indepence, MO.

With honors in 2011, Brock acquired his Master of Science Degree and is currently Board Certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner. Upon completion of his training, Brock returned to his native roots and joined his father in family practice which has served the village of Loreauville and the surrounding community since 1960. In 2014, after Brock’s father had decided to fully retire, Brock was handed over the reins and he graciously and whole heartedly accepted the responsibility of continuing to provide healthcare services to the community that had been such a huge part of both he and his family’s lives for so may years.

Brock’s expertise and commitment to our rural community earned him local recognition as KLFY’s “Acadiana Frontline Hero,” in 2020, “Best Medical Provider” in 2022’s “Best of the Tech,” and most recently, national recognition in 2025’s edition of “America’s Best in Medicine,” where he was selected as one of the leading Family Nurse Practitioners who is continuously shaping the future of healthcare through dedication, innovation, and excellence in patient care and outcomes.
Brock has been an active member of the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nurses since 2004, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners since 2011. Most recently, Brock was nominated and elected by the Iberia Parish Government and served 8 years on the Board of Commissioners for Iberia Medical Center.

When not working, Brock enjoys an active life with his beautiful wife, Sara, and their three children: Sophia (19), Asa (15) & Soleil (12). Whether it is football, baseball, cheerleading, dance, volleyball, or sorority events, he will always be found in the fan section supporting and cheering his kids on! If not in the park or in the stands, he is either at the duck or deer camp surrounded by family and close friends.

Glen Carbo
,MBA,MSN, APRN, FNP-BC

Glen Carbo,MBA,MSN, APRN, FNP-BC was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and graduated from Father Teurlings Catholic High school in 1976. He attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1982 and an MBA in 1991. Following graduation, his new job took him to Metairie, Louisiana, and after two years, Glen returned to his hometown of Lafayette to pursue a career change in the field of nursing. While he was in nursing school at USL, he worked as a Telemetry Technician at Iberia Medical Center. Prior to graduation, Glen was one of six students in the United States chosen to attend a 12 week summer internship program in Washington D.C. with the United States Pharmacopoeia. Glen graduated at the top of his class and earned the Tommy Granger Nursing Award for Outstanding Clinical Performance in 1996.

After receiving his degree in nursing, Glen worked as an RN at Iberia Medical Center, spending time within the Emergency Department and the Medical/Surgical Unit and three years in Home Health. In 2000, Glen return to ULL to become one of three graduates to earn his Master Degree in Nursing and gained Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Because of Glen’s education and experiences, Glen has worked in several specialty areas, including oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, emergency care, house calls, supervision, assisted living and various medical clinics. Currently, he is employed by Brock Romero APRN-FNP/Owner of the Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville, LLC, and has been here for a total of six years but Glen also brings to this clinic a unique level of training and experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner as he served the people of the Loreauville for a couple of years under Brock’s father, the late Dr. James R. Romero M.D.

Outside of this clinic, Glen continues to see patients who reside within Assisted Living Facilities through Opti-health. He has earned certification through the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) and performs physical qualification examinations and issues medical certificates for Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver’s as well. His certifications also include Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) and has previously been a member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Glen has been married to Judy Bouy Carbo for 44 years and they have two sons, Aaron and Drew and one grandson, Cruz. In his spare time besides surrounding himself with family and friends, Glen enjoys playing golf and deer hunting.

Glen states he has an enormous responsibility of providing quality care to his patients. He always stays prepared, organized and allows flexibility for individual needs. It is his hope that he will bring his experiences and beliefs about nursing to this wonderful clinic in order to provide the patients with the best quality care that they can possibly obtain.

Cory D. Theriot
ACNP-BC

Born and raised in St. Martinville, Cory spent the first 20 years of his life in the close-knit Cajun community that helped shape a strong commitment to service, faith, and compassionate patient care.
Cory earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2001. In 2006, he earned his Master’s degree as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Alabama with specialized training in Critical Care, Adult Health, and Geriatrics, and is board-certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

With more than 20 years of experience in adult health and interventional cardiology, Cory has dedicated his career to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and currently provides collaborative cardiology services and ambulatory cardiac monitoring for the Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville.

Outside of medicine, Cory enjoys coaching softball and currently serves as the softball director for Team Louisiana. He also has a passion for woodworking, a trade proudly passed down from his father. Family remains central to his life, and he has been happily married to his beautiful wife Nikki for 23 years and has two amazing daughters, Alyx (20) and Rylie (17).

Katie Porche
MSN, PMHNP-BC

For over 25 years, Katie has cared for people of all ages affected by mental health issues and substance use disorders with an additional specialty in trauma and loss. She graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (currently University of Louisiana at Lafayette) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Nicholls State University. She is an ANCC board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who treats patients in both urban and rural areas of Lafayette, Vermillion, and Iberia parishes. In addition, she provides services in short- and long-term psychiatric hospitals and substance treatment facilities. Katie is committed to providing a safe, supportive environment where all patients receive individualized, trauma focused psychiatric care.

Katie’s diverse experience in patient care and administrative settings has led to involvement in initiatives with Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Trauma Program, Office of the Governor, Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Public Health, Bureau of Family Health Region IV, Lafayette Consolidated Government, law enforcement agencies, and multiple other state and local organizations. Her dedication to the future of nursing is reflected in her work as an adjunct professor for Nicholls State University’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program.

Katie’s devotion to family and community is evident in her volunteerism and advocacy. She is a founding board member and volunteer for The RescYOU Group, an organization which provides financial and emotional support to families who have suffered the loss of a child. You will often find her participating in mental health awareness events and injury prevention efforts throughout Acadiana. She has an active life with her three wonderful children and loves traveling to new places!

Robbie J. Bruce, RPH
Collaborating Compound Pharmacist

Rob was born and raised in Larose, LA, and graduated from South Lafourche High School in Galliano, LA, in 1989. After high school, he attended Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, now the University of Louisiana at Monroe, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy in 1994. With more than 30 years of experience in hospital, retail, and compounding pharmacy, Rob has dedicated his career to providing personalized care and helping patients achieve better health outcomes. His extensive background in pharmacy has enabled him to build lasting relationships with patients while developing a strong passion for tailored medication solutions and compassionate service. Known for his commitment to excellence and genuine desire to help others,

Rob takes pride in serving the Rural Health Clinic of Loreauville, LLC, and its rural community with dedication, integrity, knowledge, and most importantly, care. He believes every patient deserves individualized attention and works diligently to ensure each person receives the highest quality of pharmaceutical care possible. Truly, Rob has never met a stranger — his warm personality, friendly nature, and caring heart make people feel comfortable and valued from the moment they meet him. Outside of work, Rob has been happily married to his beautiful wife, Toni, for 15 years and is the proud father of three beautiful children. He enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature, as well as playing baseball with his son, following sports, and making memories with his family and friends. Above all, Rob values faith, family, and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others every day!
